Biography

I have served 20 years active duty in the electronics field. I have been stationed on three different warships and completed a tour of instructor duty earning the Master Training Specialist qualification while training nine recruit divisions. I am entering my second year as the Naval Science Instructor at Newton-Conover High School. I am looking forward to the opportunities for the cadets and the things we will learn together as we prepare them for the next chapter in their life.
During the first semester, I will be instructing Naval Science 1 first and second period and Advanced Drill and Ceremonies fourth period. In the second semester, I will be teaching Naval Science 2 first period, Naval Science 1 second period and Physical Fitness fourth period. After school team practices will be conducted from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
As we start the new school year, we are excited at the opportunities that will be available to this year's students. We will be working in the community to develop citizenship and the importance of assisting faculty members to make events a success. We will be visiting NC State in the first semester and we will visit Duke University in the second semester to examine educational opportunities. Our drill team, color guard, air rifle team, academic team, orienteering team and  SeaPerch team will be very busy this school year as we build team work and esprit de corps within the unit.
