Weekly Updates 5/16

The End of Course schedule has been posted on our school Facebook page, school webpage, and was sent home with students. Please make note of this schedule with dates your student must attend. Thursday, May 20th will be a NORMAL school day for students. Only certain students enrolled in an English 2 class will be testing on May 20th. These students have been notified. All other students will attend class as normal on May 20th. Beginning Monday, May 24th, ONLY students testing will attend school the day of their test.

Please also notice Summer School information that has been posted to our school Facebook and webpage, as well as sent home with students. Summer School applications are now available for pick-up in the main office. Any student wishing to attend Summer School must fill out and return an application to Mr. Davis in the main office no later than Friday, May 28th. Anyone not filling out an application will not be considered. You are encouraged to contact Mr. Davis with any questions concerning Summer School.

This is a reminder to the parents/guardians of all rising seniors; students are required by the state of North Carolina to have the 2nd dose of the meningitis/meningococcal vaccine if they have not previously received this. They received their first dose in 7th grade. This is required even if you are doing all virtual learning. We encourage you to call Catawba County Public Health or your child’s doctor today, to make an appointment to get these vaccines. Please contact your school nurse with questions or concerns.

There is one area of clarification, Thursday, May 20th will be a NORMAL school day for students. Only certain students enrolled in an English 2 class will be testing on May 20th. Prom Was A Big Success

Weekly Updates - Summer Learning

AP exams will continue this week through Friday, May 14th. Students have been notified of day and time of tests. Please check your child's schedule to see when their exam will be given.

Please make note of this schedule with dates your student must attend. Please also notice Summer School information that has been posted to our school Facebook and school webpage, as well attached to your email. Students will receive paper copies of this information on Monday, May 10th.

The Senior trip to Carrigan Farms will be on Tuesday, May 18th. The cost is $20/student and may be paid in the front office. Information has been sent to Seniors with more details.

Graduation has been set for Friday, May 28th at 7pm. The ceremony will take place in Gurley Stadium. Students please look for more information in your student email.

"The North Carolina High School Athletic Association will host regional rounds in girls golf throughout the state on Tuesday. A total of 27 golfers from 12 schools in the three area conferences will compete in the West Regional. Among those schools, five will vie for team championships in their respective classifications, and the right to advance to the state tournament next week."

Variety Show

FYI....The Annual N-CHS Band Variety Show will be held Friday April 30th and Saturday May 1st at 7pm at the Newton Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. Come join in the fun and support the N-CHS Band.
