Parents and Students: This is a reminder concerning many important events taking place at NCHS this week, beginning October 26th. Please read all information carefully below as it pertains to our entire student body, whether Hybrid or Remote.
*First Nine Week Report cards will be given out in Homeroom on Monday to Group A students and Wednesday to Group B students. Remote students are asked to pick up their report card at the main office on Friday, October 30th. These can also be viewed via PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please go over your student's report card with them and discuss areas of concern. As always, please contact your student's teachers with any questions you may have.
*Sophomores and Juniors will be participating in testing this week on their respective days. Sophomores will be participating in the Pre-ACT, while Juniors will be participating in an ACT Diagnostic (Practice ACT) which will help students determine areas to work on before the standard administration of the ACT in February.
*Group A students will be testing on Tuesday, October 27th
*Group B students will be testing on Thursday, October 29th
*Remote students will be testing on Friday, October 30th
*All students are asked to be at school NO LATER than 7:40am to
begin testing promptly.
*Remote students will need to arrive on Friday NO LATER than
7:40am. They will need to be picked up between 11:30am
and 12pm as testing concludes. Students must provide their
own transportation on this Remote testing day.
*Seniors will be granted College Visitation Days on Tuesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 29th. Therefore, they will NOT report to campus on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Due to many college campuses being closed to outside visits, an alternative virtual assignment has been discussed with Seniors to complete on these days. More information will be given out in Senior Homerooms on Monday and Wednesday of this week.
*Freshmen will report to school as normal on Tuesday and Thursday.
*Continuing this week, students who are enrolled in NC End of Course Tests will be participating in Benchmarks. These classes include Math 1, Math 3, English 2, and Biology. Please ensure your student has logged into these classes and participated. We have many students who have not completed these assessments, especially our Remote students. These benchmarks will help teachers and students determine areas of strength and weakness as we move into End of Course testing in December.
*Looking ahead, Senior Portraits will be offered the week of November 2nd through November 5th. Please see email to seniors from Mrs. Smith, as well as a previous post here for sign-up times. Any questions may be directed to Mrs. Smith at kristy.smith@n-ccs.org.
*Lastly, please see the 1st Quarter Newsletter attached below with some information about all the amazing things happening at NCHS.
Thank you for your attentiveness to these items of interest. We look forward to a great week with our students here at NCHS. We hope you have a great evening and GO RED DEVILS!
