The FMM "Spirit to Learn" Foundation

The Fisher-Matthews Misenheimer"Spirit to Learn" Foundation, Inc. wishes to provide a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a high school senior who faced exceptionally difficult personal and/or family circumstances giving extraordinary responsibility to the student. The student must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year college. Applications are available in Student Services  and are due back  to Mrs. Hayman COMPLETED BY Tuesday, March 26th. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Younce, Vtipil & Baznik, P.A. announce a scholarship essay for seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college.  Applications are open now, and are due by April 1, 2019 (which will approach quickly). Description: The SeniorHomes.com Caregiver Scholarship is intended for students who are passionate about helping seniors live healthy lives and are pursuing careers in senior care. The award can be used towards tuition and/or books.
Applicant Eligibility: Applicants must be actively enrolled in or accepted to attend a U.S. college or university and pursuing a career in senior care.
Application Requirements: Applicants must submit either a 500-word essay or 2-3 minute video addressing a topic related to elder care. Where to Apply: SeniorHomes.com scholarship page
Deadline: The 2018 deadline was July 31, 2018. The 2019 deadline has not been released.

 

The Ken and Betty Issac Scholarship

The Ken and Betty Issac Scholarship is now available in Student Services. This is a $20,000.00 scholarship to cover a four year enrollment in college or university located in the state of North Carolina. Student must have a min. 2.5 GPA, submit a transcript, 2 letters of recommendation and completion of application. Applications MUST BE returned to Mrs. Hayman by Wednesday, March 27th. No Exceptions!

 

 

The Ruby Horne Wellborn Scholarship

First United Methodist Church

Applications are now available in Student Services. Three letters of recommendation along with a high school transcript must be received no later than April 17th to the address on the application.  Must have a GPA between 2.5 to 3.99 (4.0 is excluded high school applicant). Must provide a copy of the must current filed tax returns of the parent or guardian.  The amount of the scholarship is: $1,500.00.   

 

 

 
 
Rotary Club of Lake Hickory Scholarship 2019
Seniors must be in the top 20% of their class and thoroughly explain financial need. The major basis for selection will be "Service above Self"(contributions to school, church and community). Students will need three letters of recommendations 1 from their school counselor and two from other sources not from family members. A high school transcript and follow all instructions on the packet including the essay. Applications are due NO LATER THAN 3/25/19 to the address provided.
 
North Carolina Retired School Personnel
Student must be seeking a degree at a 4 year college or university aspiring to a professional  educator . Display high moral ethics, display a well above average academic standing, motivate others, be a life-long learner, have a positive attitude and recognize potential in others. This scholarship is worth $1,000.00  with  the winner having the ability to submit three renewal requests for a total of $4,000.00 as long as he or she remains an education major and meets renewal requirements. The application packet must be received by Thursday, March 28, 2019 on the address provided. You are responsible to mail your packet to the scholarship chair! 
 
Michael A. DeMayo Scholarship
Must be a current senior with a 3.0 or higher who plans to enroll in a 4 year college or university after high school. Packet must include 750-1,000 word essay (typed, double spaced) on the dangers of underage drinking along with a minimum 15 slide powerpoint presentation and hard copy of slides on CD/DVD.  A color Brochure must accompany the application with your transcript and SAT/ACT scores. Applications are available in Student Services. The scholarship is worth $2,500.00 and the application packet must be postmarked by 4/1/19/
 
Catawba Valley Medical Center Auxiliary 
Slemp/Volunteer Health Career Scholarship
1,000 one time award. Awarded to a graduating senior with a C+ average or better. Students must have been accepted into a healthcare related program. Students with a desire to be educated in a health career will have prime consideration. Financial need is considered. Students who have participated in school health occupation programs, volunteered or worked part time in health care have a  distinct advantage. Deadline to send in applications is April 5th, 2019 to the address provided.  
 
 
Imagine America Scholarship
To qualify applicants must be a high school senior with a min. GPA of 2.5 or above and enroll in a participating career college.
