Meet Mrs. Cammie Adams

Welcome to my page!  I hope that you are ready for another awesome year!  Here's a little information about me....
I've been teaching since 2004 and have taught Chorus, Piano and Musical Theater. I taught at Grandview Middle School in Hickory City Schools for ten years and then at Pine Lake Preparatory School in Mooresville, for one year. This is my second year at NCHS and I love being a "Red Devil!"  I can't believe that I'm starting my 13th year of teaching!
I  started singing at the age of 3 and performing professionally at the age of 10 with the Virginia Opera Company.  I've studied at Westminster Choir College, Emory and Henry College and received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music of Shenandoah University.   With studies at Appalachian State University, I received my Education certificate.  I have been blessed to have performed all over the world with groups such as The Lake Junaluska Singers, Glenn Draper Singers, The Virginia Opera Company, The Washington Opera, New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, The Moody Broadcasting Network, etc. I was humbled to perform and open up for "Plumb" and "Jars of Clay", two Christian Contemporary/Worship Bands years ago.   In 2004, I had the honor of singing on a Grammy Award winning CD of the Berlioz Requiem.
I've been honored to have been awarded the Wilmer Jenkins "Teacher of the Year" award and have conducted "Superior"-rated Choral groups over the years.  Of course, I LOVE MUSICALS! I've been seen locally on the stage at Hickory Community Theater and the Green Rm in shows such as "Titanic", "Grease", "My Way", etc.  One of my new found loves over the past few years has been directing.  I have directed numerous musicals, such as "Annie", "Into the Woods", "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast" to name a few.
I enjoy doing commercial/film work on the side and some modeling, as well.  This Teacher has had opportunities to film with Verizon Wireless, Showtime's "Homeland" and a promo video for "Sofa Stuff".  My modeling work has led me to work with stores such as Kohls, Belk, Style Exchange, Aqua B, Dress Barn, Cowboy Country, etc.
My favorite "title" is that of "Mom".  I'm blessed with two awesome children, Cadence (9) and Cameron (14) and two "bonus" children, Olivia (22) and Gregory (24).  I am married to my sweetheart, Scott, who's an Engineer.  We have two dogs, Malley and Sophie.
I love what I do and love all of my "adopted kids"! My students have meant the world to me over the past years and they continue to be a part of my life.  While the previous "accolades" all sound great and I am indeed grateful, I consider myself "blessed".  Music is a "gift", not to be taken lightly!  My faith, family and friends keep me going and I am thrilled to be able to share this "gift"!
Blessings for an awesome year!
