Weekly updates for 2/28:
Softball Tryouts will begin this week. If you are interested in trying out for the Red Devil softball team, please be prepared to stay this week. Tryouts will be from 3:00 to 5:00pm. You will also need to have a current physical on file in order to stay.
Parents and students, please be aware the end of the 3rd Nine Weeks will be March 11th. Parents, please look at your student's PowerSchool to view their grades and present performance. Students, please be diligent in your work completion as you prepare for the end of the grading period. We want all of our Red Devils to be successful and finish this quarter strong.
Newton-Conover Athletics will be presaling tickets for all varsity football games this year in the front office. Due to limited availability we are encouraging all fans to purchase their tickets at the front office Monday-Thursday. Tickets ($7) will go on sale Monday at 11:00 and be sold through Thursday until 4:00 or until we are sold out. Away game tickets will also be available for sale at NCHS. (Fewer tickets available for away games) All spectators are asked to wear masks, social distance, and remain seated as much as possible throughout the games. We look forward to see you at Red devil football games this year! Go Big Red!
We welcome our Group A students on Monday and Tuesday this week, as well as our Group B students on Wednesday and Thursday. Remote students, and hybrid students on your remote days, please be sure to log into each Canvas class, each day, for your attendance. Full remote students, please also be sure to log into each of your class ZOOM meetings on Fridays.

On Thursday, 2/25 our Lady Red Devils will be playing West Stokes High School at 6:00 p.m. in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs. To watch the game on YouTube click the headline above to go to the site.

Good evening Red Devil Families, we hope you have enjoyed a restful weekend. We are so excited to be back to a normal schedule and week at N-CHS. We would like to thank our Junior students for their participation in the C.C.R.A. Practice A.C.T. this week. We will begin using the data from the first administration in the Fall, as well as the data received from this administration, to fine-tune student preparation for the actual A.C.T. on February 23rd.
Carolina Photography will be at Newton-Conover High School on Monday, January 25th for A Day and Wednesday, January 27th for B Day to photograph Fall/yearbook absentee pictures. This will be for Seniors and all underclassmen. Remote students may attend either session. We hope to have pictures for all Red Devils completed as our Yearbook staff is working hard on this memory for our students.
On Friday evening, our J.R.O.T.C. air-rifle team competed in Mooresville against 15 teams in Western NC for the Area Six Championship Qualifying Match. Only the top two teams advance to the NC/SC Championship-65 total schools. We are excited to report that our Red Devil squad finished second with some amazing results. We are so proud of you and excited to see what is to come from this team!

Red Devil families, please read closely important information for the coming week at Newton-Conover High School.
Tomorrow, January 19th and Wednesday, January 20th, our Juniors will be taking the second round of the C.C.R.A., which is a practice A.C.T. test. This will allow our students one last chance to practice for the state administration of the A.C.T. on February 23rd, which is a mandatory test for Juniors. Our Group A students will participate Tuesday, while our Group B students will participate on Wednesday. Our Freshman and Sophomore students will attend on their respective days, but will report to Homeroom. Our Senior Red Devils will have the opportunity for college exploration and visits on Tuesday for Group A and Wednesday for Group B and will therefore be excused from campus. Remote students who are Juniors will be expected to come to campus on Friday, January 22nd for their C.C.R.A. administration beginning at 7:30am.
Looking ahead, makeup school pictures for all will take place next week. Group A underclassmen and Seniors will have pictures on Monday, January 25th, while Group B underclassmen and Seniors will have their opportunity on Wednesday, January 27th. Remote students are asked to come on one of these days for makeups.
