FYI Red Devil Families:
At the September 3, 2021 Special Called Meeting, the Newton-Conover City Schools Board of Education voted 6-0 to require staff, students, and visitors to wear face coverings while indoors on school campuses beginning Tuesday, September 7, 2021 (provided they do not meet one of the criteria for exceptions). Face coverings are also still required to be worn on school transportation. The Board of Education reserves the right to make once again make face coverings optional as deemed appropriate. Per S. B. 654, the Board of Education is required throughout the 2021-2022 school year to review this policy each month, consider the need for modifications, and vote to approve/modify this policy

Good Evening Red Devil Families, thank you for a great first week of school! We appreciate your flexibility as we adjust to having all of our Red Devil's back on campus and work through enrolling and adjusting schedules for many of our students.
On Monday, we will begin following our normal bell schedule. Students will begin the day moving to their 1st block class at the tardy bell. Be aware that we will begin distributing tardies to school, as well as all classes, tomorrow. The tardy bell rings at 7:40am and students MUST be in their classroom seats before this bell rings. Please make sure your student arrives on campus in ample time to get to their class. Tardies will accumulate and lead to after-school detention.
We appreciate parents and students adhering to our traffic pattern for drop off and pick up with students. This protocol will remain in place for the remainder of the school year. We appreciate you not dropping students off and/or picking up students on the sides of the street. We are working to keep our students as safe as possible. Please see the attached traffic pattern per Newton Police for NCHS. We appreciate your help in utilizing this pattern and following this procedure through our parking lot. School doors open at 7:00am with dismissal at 2:50pm.
Parents, please be sure your student continues to adhere to our dress code here at NCHS. Midriff tops, tank tops, bare shoulders and stomachs, excessive rips and holes in pants, as well as bandanas and sagging pants are not appropriate and will be asked to change and/or call for more clothes. Your student was shared the Student Handbook today as a refresher and will be able to discuss this policy with you. Likewise, vapes and Jules are not allowed on campus either and will be disciplined. We would greatly appreciate you having conversations with your student and ensuring these policies are upheld.
If your student has not yet received their technology today, please be sure you have completed Infosnap registration online. An email was sent to the email on file with PowerSchool. This MUST be completed before technology and schedules can be issued.
We look forward to another productive week at NCHS with our Red Devils. We appreciate your help in making this the best year yet! We hope you have a great evening, and as always....GO RED DEVILS!

Good evening Red Devil families! We are so excited to have made it through our first day of school and looking forward to a productive week! We would like to share some information again with parents and students as we continue our week.
Our school doors open at 7:00am. The tardy bell rings at 7:40am. Students need to be in their homeroom seats at 7:40am. Please make every effort to have students here at the appropriate time. As the car line may be long, please be sure to leave earlier to ensure your student does not receive a tardy for attendance. Likewise, our dismissal is at 2:50pm. If you pick your student up, please be sure to follow the appropriate direction of traffic. Students are not to be picked up on the street, nor are parents to drive through the parking at the top entrance. Beginning tomorrow, cones will be placed to help direct our traffic flow.
Parents, please be sure your student adheres to our dress code here at NCHS.
Students who are in need of bus information need to see Mr. Davis in the cafeteria during their lunch period. He will be stationed at the main table during all four lunches.
Seniors who have not received the meningococcal booster need to make every attempt to clear this as soon as possible. The deadline for this booster is September 21st. Students who have not had the booster by that point will not be allowed to attend school until this has been received per state guidelines.
New students to our system are not completely syncing with our communication system. Hopefully this will work itself out within the week. If you or someone you know is not receiving our communications, please be sure to check on our webpage and Facebook page to ensure you are getting needed information. We will continue to work through this issue.
If your student did not receive their technology today, please be sure you have complete Infosnap registration online. An email was sent to the email on file with PowerSchool. This MUST be completed before technology and schedules can be issued.
We hope you have a great evening! We look forward to seeing all of our Red Devils tomorrow!

Good evening Red Devil Families, welcome back to the 2021-22 school year. We are so excited to begin a new school year and to be using our new communications system. Please make sure you have included good phone numbers and emails on your PowerSchool information to receive communications from the school.
School will begin Monday, August 23rd. Our doors at NCHS will open at 7:00am with the tardy bell ringing at 7:40am. This means students must be in their seats at 7:40am. Please be diligent that students arrive in ample time to make it to their class by this time. Homeroom lists will be placed throughout the Commons Area. Staff will be available to assist students to their proper class site.
Students will receive their class schedules and technology in homeroom the first day IF they have a completed Infosnap enrollment. Students will only need to bring paper and pencil with them the first day of class. Individual teachers will go over specific classroom materials required for their class during their first meeting. Masks are optional for students and staff.
We look forward to seeing all of our Red Devils on August 23rd! Our first Open House will be on September 14th after our first 3-week Progress Reports have been distributed. Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope you have a great evening and GO RED DEVILS!
