Newton Conover High School

The inaugural cohort of the Red Devil Advanced C.O.R.E. spent time today team and leadership building at the US Whitewater Center. Students were able to experience many of the activities offered at the venue as they got to know each other and learn essential leadership skills. As always, it’s a great day to be a Red Devil!

NCHS will have new student registration Tuesday, Aug. 9th and Wed. Aug. 10th from 8:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. till 3 p.m. Please make sure you bring a proof of residence with your physical address (powerbill, water bill, lease agreement, gas bill are all acceptable), recent report card or transcript, birth certificate and any legal custody agreement.

Red Devil Families - here are some updates and information for the week at NCHS. On Friday, August 5th all families are welcomed to the NCHS Athletics Booster Kick-Off. This will be held at Gurley Stadium from 6:00 - 9:00pm. Please see the flyer on our school Facebook and webpage, as well as linked in your email for more information. Midnight Madness will follow this event at Gurley Stadium where our Red Devil football team will participate in their first official 'hit day' of the season. This will begin at Midnight. All are welcome to attend. Parents, please also make your way to our school Facebook and webpage to view our new safety procedures for entering the school building. All visitors will be asked to ring the video bell on the front door. One of our office staff will respond to ask how they may help. Please be prepared with your photo ID to show through the camera at that time. Once your name is cleared in Power School as a verified contact, the door will be unlocked and you will be welcomed into the building. We are so excited to add this new level of security for our students and staff! Please work with us as we enforce these procedures by having your photo ID with you upon reaching our front door. Seniors, please remember students are required by the state of North Carolina to have the 2nd dose of the meningococcal vaccine if they have not previously received this. This is required even if you are doing all virtual learning. We encourage you to call Catawba County Public Health or your child’s doctor today, to make an appointment to get these vaccines. ATTENTION SENIORS: Carolina Photography will be at Newton-Conover High School for Senior Pictures on July 14, 2022. Please see the brochure of information below. Giulia Farinaso qualified as well, but will be returning to her home country before this competition. We are so proud of the way they all represented Newton-Conover these past three days!
