Red Devil families, we hope you have had a wonderful weekend and are ready for our last full week of instruction for this semester. Here are the announcement for the week of 12/5.
N-CHS will be offering several EOC review sessions this week to prepare for exams next week. Math 1 reviews will be offered Tuesday and Thursday afternoons this week from 3pm-5pm. Biology reviews will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3pm-4pm. The National Honor Society will continue to host tutoring opportunities for all students in all subject areas on Monday until 3:30pm. Let's help all our students make a successful run to finish this semester strong.
Parents make sure you have marked your calendars with our final exams dates the week of December 13 - 17. These dates were sent out at the beginning of the semester. Students enrolled in Math 1, Math 3, Biology, and English 2 will be testing in the mornings, along with specific Career Technical Education courses. Students required to take Teacher Made Exams will be testing after lunch at 1pm. Please see the schedule posted on our Facebook, Webpage, as well as attached to your email. A letter with exam schedule and check out information will be sent home with students this week. Please make arrangements for your student to be present during this week to take these important exams as they count 20% of your student's final semester grade. If your student has permission to check out after our morning testing sessions are completed, please return the attached form signed by Friday, December 10th.
Students, remember to celebrate our Holiday Spirit Week this week. This was also posted last week on our school Facebook and webpage and is attached to this week's email. We can't wait to see our students participating as we prepare for final exams and the upcoming holiday break.
The 2022 Yearbook can be purchased at a reduced price ($70) from now until Dec 12th. We are also offering a Holiday Bundle Deal. Purchase the 2021 yearbook and the 2022 yearbook for $110, a $50 savings off of the regular price. The Bundle can be purchased during all four lunches or in the main office.

Beginning tomorrow, November 29th, there will be Math 1 tutoring sessions for the upcoming Math 1 End of Course test. These sessions will be each Monday and Thursday from 3pm - 5pm. We encourage all students who are enrolled in Math 1 to attend these sessions to ensure success during our EOC exams in December. More EOC subject tutoring sessions will be added within the next few weeks. The National Honor Society will continue to host tutoring opportunities for all students in all subject areas. Tutoring is on Mondays until 3:30pm in Ms. Bandy’s room, Room 121. Many other teachers offer weekly tutoring sessions for their classes as well. Red Devil Families, this is a quick reminder there will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow for students or staff. On Thursday, November 11th, N-CHS will be observing and honoring Veteran's Day. School will be closed for students and staff. We hope you take the time to thank a Veteran for their service and sacrifice for our country and freedoms.
On Friday, November 12th, Junior and Senior students will have the opportunity to order class rings, as well as graduation paraphernalia for all Seniors. Please see Jostens set up in the Commons Area during your lunch period.
National Technical Honor Society will be collecting peanut butter and jelly throughout the month of November for the Corner Table in Newton. Please send donations of PB&J with students to help support this wonderful ministry.

Our Sophomores and Juniors will be participating in testing on Tuesday, October 26th. Sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT, while our Juniors will be taking a College and Career Readiness practice exam which will prepare them for our Spring administration of the ACT. Testing will begin promptly at 7:40am. Please be sure to have students on time. Our Senior students will have the opportunity for a College Exploration/Visit Day on October 26th. More information will be sent out to Senior students from counselors and during Senior Homeroom.
In Red Devil Athletics, congratulations and GOOD LUCK are in order to our women's golf and tennis programs. Beginning the week, Hailey Hicks, Celeste Little, and Sondra Uon all qualified and will be participating in the State Golf Tournament in Southern Pines. In tennis, Alexa Allison won the 2A Western Region Individual Tennis Championship on Saturday! She will now be participating in the State Individual Tournament in Apex on Friday. Good luck to all these amazing female athletes this week! Let's bring it home to Red Devil Country!
